Sharing valuable content on LinkedIn can help you to establish credibility, build your professional brand, and engage with your network.

Here are types of posts that are generally valuable to share on LinkedIn in a professional setting:

  1. Industry Insights & Articles: Share recent articles, studies, or news related to your industry. Offer your own commentary or insight to add value and spark a conversation. (Personally I share information about AI, LinkedIn and Marketing as well as personal development.) Think about adding value to your industry.
  2. Professional Achievements: Celebrate promotions, certifications, awards, or milestones. This isn’t about bragging but about sharing your professional journey with your network. (I have shared about overcoming FEARS, Running Marathons, Learning to Dive etc Think about what you accomplished and SHARE IT, people love to root for you)
  3. Company News: Share updates about your company such as product launches, events, awards, or milestones. (Each time something amazing happens at Ajax Union like when I win a new client or I have a new offer, I share about it, people want to know!)
  4. Case Studies & Success Stories: Sharing successful projects or case studies can be an effective way to demonstrate your expertise. (Often we will share both testimonials and case studies as posts, people want to trust you but you have to show them how other people trust you too. Try posing a recommendation screenshot from your profile!)
  5. Professional Tips & Advice: Share tips, best practices, or advice related to your area of expertise. (I share tips on how to use LinkedIn like this article, I share tips about sales navigator, tips about life as a single dad with 5 kids, tips about public speaking, networking, purpose etc. Think about what your audience wants to learn about.)
  6. Event Recaps: If you attended a conference, seminar, or workshop, share your key takeaways, photos, or experiences. (Everytime I go to a networking event, I take lots of SELFIES and I share a recap on my profile as a post, I often will tag some of the people that I met, its a great follow up strategy as well.)
  7. Thought Leadership: Write and share articles on topics you're passionate about or where you have expertise. This helps establish you as an authority in your field. (If something excites you, SHARE ABOUT IT, Personal Development and AI excite me, Marketing and Business growth excite me, so I share about those things and my followers LOVE IT.)
  8. Questions & Polls: Engage with your network by asking thought-provoking questions or creating polls. This can spur engagement and insightful discussions. (Linkedin Polls are GAME CHANGERS. Check out this poll )
  9. Recommendations & Testimonials: Write a recommendation for a colleague or share a testimonial you received. This promotes a positive professional culture and strengthens relationships. (When you recommend people in posts, you build trust with them and their community. Make sure you post about your network! Its important to connect with people that way. I shared a post about my friend Charles - I love promoting my connections to my connections. Its a good practice.)
  10. Job Opportunities: Share vacancies within your company or any other relevant job opportunities. Your network might appreciate the heads up! (Whenever I have a Job opportunity at Ajax Union, Evyrgreen or evyAI, I share about it on LinkedIn, the best place to find good people is in your network!)
  11. Webinars & Courses: Share and promote any upcoming webinars, online courses, or educational opportunities. This can be especially useful if they're free or offer special discounts. (I always have a webinar coming up, so make sure you post about any webinars you have coming up. I talk about LinkedIn, AI and personal development Check out www.evyrgreen.com/webinar for the next one)
  12. Books & Resources: Recommend books, tools, or other resources that have been beneficial to you in your professional journey. (Books have changed my life! I share book sall the time, both books that I have written like High Energy Networking and book that I have read and studied. What books do you share about. Highly recommended to share books as posts! )
  13. Behind-the-Scenes: Showcasing a day in your life or giving a behind-the-scenes look at your workplace can humanize your professional image. (I share myself at my desk working, in the car on zoom calls or with my kids multi tasking, make sure that you share yourself doing things in your business, people want to see the behind the scenes of what is going on in your business)
  14. Networking: Share content from others in your network, tag them, or even mention someone with whom you recently had a productive meeting. (You do not ONLY have to share your own content, you can share content from other people too! Make sure to tag those people and you will love the results you get from this because YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WRITE IT. I like asking several people questions and posting their answers. Its a great way to crowdsource content!)
  15. Visual Content: Infographics, slides, charts, or any visual content that breaks down complex ideas into easily digestible formats. (If you Google any keyword and the word infographic, or chart you will find some impressive visuals you can use on LinkedIn. I love share those on my profile, I also love having my designers create impressive visuals.)
  16. Inspiration & Motivation: Share quotes, stories, or personal experiences that offer motivation or insight. (If you get inspired by a quote, other people will get inspired too! Make sure that you share quotes, stories and personal experiences that inspire you. Who are the authors, mentors, coaches, leaders that you love. Save those quotes and share them. Also have a few original quotes ready too that you came up with!)
  17. Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives: Highlight initiatives or programs that promote diversity, inclusion, and corporate social responsibility. (I love supporting minorities, women and other social responsibility initiatives related to entreperneurship. No matter what care about SHARE IT, people want to know that you are making a difference and its also good for business)

Fantastic insights! As a LinkedIn marketing specialist, I can attest to the efficacy of each of these content types. It's not just about posting, but about posting with purpose, intention, and authenticity. Your list is a comprehensive guide for both newcomers and seasoned professionals on the platform. One thing I've observed over the years is the power of consistency. Whether it's sharing industry insights or celebrating professional milestones, regular engagement is key. It's not just about building a brand; it's also about nurturing and sustaining it. Thanks for this valuable share, and I'd encourage everyone to bookmark this post as a reference. Personally, I've seen tremendous engagement from 'Behind-the-Scenes' and 'Thought Leadership' posts. They not only humanize your brand but also position you as an authority in your niche. Keep up the great work!
