Words From the Founder
We are off and running! We have successfully kicked off and launched our youth programs with the interest from schools, parents and students greater than ever!?We are especially proud of our chapter in St. Cloud, which has implemented both youth programs, Girls Taking Action and Boys of Hope into all of the St. Cloud Public Schools.
A?huge thanks to all the lead mentors who will facilitate our mentoring groups for the 2024-25 school and reach 600 students and their parents every week. Your work is critical and imperative in our mission to provide personal development and leadership mentoring that leads to success in school and life for our youth.
And... we also?launched our 2024-25 POPLI advisory board with a group of incredibly talented and committed professionals from across the Twin Cities.??
I am also thrilled to announce our nationwide expansion into Atlanta,?in partnership with the national jeweler, Kendra Scott.?Our goal is to have you, our supporters, gift?one of our girls with our new Kendra Scott Girls Taking Action Collection, to encourage and celebrate our girls.??
In closing,?on Monday, October 28th, we had an incredible 3rd Annual Restoration of Civil Rights ceremony celebrating our men and women who have overcome incarceration and are now positive contributing citizens in our communities. We reminded the community that 55,000 second chance Minnesotans are now eligible to vote, and that it is important to exercise their right to vote on November 5.?Special thanks to our board, staff, lead mentors and you, our?supporters for ALL you do for our youth, families and communities.?Together we are making a HUGE difference!?

Girls Taking Action Launches Nationwide Expansion Through Partnership with Philanthropist Kendra Scott
"I want our girls to know that not only are they good enough; they’re amazing," said Dr. Verna. "When we can help show them how valuable and beautiful and important and brilliant and loved and powerful they are in this world - when we can actually help them feel that through just a piece of jewelry or just a way to help them feel like they’re amazing - I think that that’s what the Kendra Scott brand does for me.”

Youth Programs
"We're hot rockin'" as Kelley Eubanks, POPLI's Youth Program Director, says.
Girls Taking Action and Boys of Hope are in full-swing. This year our programs are in 17 schools, and for the first time ever, BOH is in EVERY school alongside GTA.
Over the past month, POPLI's youth program team recruited youth at each school, resulting in 34 events to kick off the year. GTA and BOH are motivating, mentoring, empowering and educating 600 youth to succeed in school and life.

3rd Annual Restoration of Civil Rights Day: New Voter Rally
VOTE for the November 5th Election!
Monday, October 28, marked the 3rd Anniversary of the Restoration of Civil Rights Act, signed by Vice President nominee Tim Waltz. We hosted a new voter rally to empower and educate the 55,000 new voters across Minnesota.
“It’s exciting for us because we work with a lot of ex-offenders, and some of those men and women now have their civil right to vote restored," said Brother Shane Price. "That’s exciting news. There are still states around the country who don’t allow it (second-chance voters). We’re excited for it. We’re going to keep on celebrating it.”
The League of Women Voters partnered with us to teach voters how to locate your nearest polling location, read a ballot and understand the electoral process.
Special guests Spike Moss, Brother Shane's mentor at The Way, and Senator Bobby Joe Champion were in attendance.
