4 年Thanks a lot, dear Davida Ginter for triggering this meaningful discussion on a common challenge. Questions 2 and 3 are still bouncing in my mind. Context and social norms for sure will lead the game even before meeting the participants/attendees. However, I've been trying to avoid shutting questions about job duties at first, but rather a simple intro statement to create quick rapport like "is great to have you on board (be connected / with us, etc.) depending on the type of event. Then, and based on their reaction, I would go for the second statement on "sharing and exchanging" as this is more inclusive, personalized and clearly acknowledging the invitee's experience and knowledge.
