17
Today is my son's 17th birthday. People told me when he was born that the days would be long, but the years would be short.
They nailed that one.
One day he is a baby, the next moment he is 6'6" and constantly flexing some muscles he just found.
What a blessing he has been in our lives from day 1! In fact, if he hadn't come along you wouldn't be reading this.
It was my desire to spend more time with him that motivated me to start my own business. And I was willing to do whatever it took to make it work.
I look back and I am so thankful for the time and experiences we have shared together. I've found one thing to be a rock-solid truth.
You never regret spending time doing things that matter.
There have been opportunities to make more money, have more influence, do big things, etc. but I've never regretted passing them up to be a present father.
I want to encourage you to think about how you are spending your time. Are focusing on the things that matter?
If not, I would recommend focusing on two areas.
Your health and your relationships.
If you have both of those there is not much else you need. And if you don't have those things, nothing else really matters.
Thank you for your support. Thank you for allowing me to do what I love every day. Because of you, I can be the dad my son deserves.
Hope you have an amazing day.
Thank you,
-Joe
