#16July — Amazon Enters Edtech Space | Twitter Adds Indian Regional Language Support

?Amazon has been playing several cards to make more headway in the Indian market. Now, the Jeff Bezos-led company is entering new territory with the launch of its first edtech app.

?Just a few months after appointing Manish Maheshwari as Twitter India head, the micro-blogging network has now redesigned its website to help users personalise content in seven Indian languages.

?Digital retail and convenience store network Vakrangee is reportedly planning to leverage its pan-India distribution setup to establish an electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the country. 

?Flipkart has urged online sellers to give discounts for its loyalty programme Flipkart Plus users, in order to avail concession on its platform fees. A Flipkart letter, reviewed by us, asked sellers to opt for extra 5% discount on fashion products when selling to users who have opted to join Flipkart Plus.

?Grofers has received an infusion of INR 97.58 Cr from its Singapore-based entity, Grofers International and has also raised an additional $10 Mn in its ongoing Series F round from an Abu Dhabi-based entity Capital Investment LLC.  

 ?Speaking at the fourth anniversary of Skill India programme, Indian Minister of Communications and Minister of Law and Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the government is aiming to make India a major export hub of electronics manufacturing. 

?Over the last few years, Bollywood celebrities have been exploring investments in the technology space to diversify their interests and use their reach for entrepreneurial goals. The latest addition to the clan of celebrities is ace Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She along with her mother, Vrinda KR, has invested in Bengaluru-based environmental intelligence startup Ambee along side investors such as Rajan Anandan.
