167 Cisco 'CCNA1' instructors trained is no mean feat!

This is it, I have earned my nervous break down and Kevin has definitely earned a well deserved respite. From February the 14th to July the 10th - we have taken our community of Cisco Instructors down a long path to Cisco success.
Getting 167 Cisco CCNA1 - Introduction to Networking instructors means that we also have 167 Networking Essentials instructors. Something worth shouting about - especially the way the numbers stack up.
From the outset, we knew that this course would behave like an xMOOC ... many signing up were optimists hoping for an easy course. Rated for 70 hours of study, many quickly discovered that this was a clear underestimation. However, they stuck at it and we can see the results. With a broad spread of grades, the 167 who passed are from 191 who completed, within a pack of 330 who stuck with the course - coming from a group of 949 who survived the 'cull' of the 1130 who signed up.
Everyone likes a good retention story, if we measured the 167 against the original 1130, we have 16.9% ... most xMOOC's would wish for anything above 10%. Measured against our surviving 949 (those who bothered to login), this increases to 20.1%. When we review anyone who attempted any form of assessment, the 330 this increases to 57.5%. This programme is better than xMOOC and also better than many equivalent distance based programmes. If we dive down to the the final population it compares to many face-to-face courses.
Now is the time for evaluation and analysis - the initial figures tell us that while we have to develop the model. the programme worked and should be repeated. Which we will.
