16 Reasons Why I Quit the Gym!

As a holistic health coach, I wanted to share with you 16 reasons why I don't have a gym anymore and work with women solely via video call.


From 2017 to 2020, I rented a gym space on Leeson Street in Dublin, Ireland. However, due to the pandemic, I had to transition to coaching via video call. The craziest thing about it is I never thought it would work and now 3 years later I've realised it works WAAAY better and 100's of women have been able to get amazing results from the reasons listed below.


1) Convenience:

You can work out from the comfort of your home or wherever you can access the internet. One lady recently was on a business trip in California and another on holiday in Mallorca.


2) Time-saving:

You don’t have to spend time commuting to and from the gym, which can save you up to an hour or more per day (more time to sleep in the morning).


3) Flexible scheduling:

You can schedule your workouts at a time that’s convenient for you, without having to worry about gym opening hours or class schedules.


4) Personalized attention:

Working with us on video calls allows for more personalized attention and one-on-one coaching.


5) Cost-effective:

You can save money on gym memberships, transportation costs, and other expenses associated with going to a physical gym.


6) No gym intimidation:

Many people feel intimidated by the gym environment, but working out via video call eliminates this issue entirely.


7) Comfortable attire:

You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in during your workout, without having to worry about dressing up for the gym.


8) No equipment needed:

You don’t need any fancy equipment or machines to get a great workout via video call. All of my clients use a couple of dumbbells and a hip circle.


9) Privacy:

You can work out in the privacy of your own home, without having to worry about other gym-goers watching or judging you.


10) Reduced risk of injury:

Without having to worry about navigating unfamiliar equipment or being distracted by other gym-goers, you can focus on proper form and technique, reducing the risk of injury.


11) Increased accountability:

Working with us via video call can help keep you accountable and motivated to stick to your fitness goals.


12) Customized workouts:

We create customized workouts tailored specifically to your needs and fitness level.


13) Access to expert guidance:

Working with a qualified trainer via video call gives you access to expert guidance and knowledge that you might not have otherwise.


14) Ability to work with a wider range of clients:

Working via video call allows us to work with clients from all over the world, so far I have worked with people based in Ireland, UK, USA, Belgium, Australia and even New Zealand.


15) Increased productivity:

By eliminating commute time, you can be more productive and make better use of your time to spend with family or at work.


16) Sickness:

I unfortunately have a sensitive immune system and have had COVID twice, so even when I, or any of my team, get sick it means we can continue to work and provide support to our clients while keeping them safe. If I was sick and owned a physical gym no clients would be able to come in case they got sick.



As someone who has been training regularly for the last 11 years and loves training in the gym, I understand that the gym environment works for some people but not for everyone.

99% of the women I coach have never liked going to the gym and prefer working together via video call for many of the reasons listed above.

This is the niche area I have decided to specialise in over the last few years.


I wanted to write this to give you an insight into my thinking and keep it open and honest.
