16 Oct: How to make ETS2 work for your country.
Citizens' Climate Europe
European citizens group working on effective climate policy for Europe that scales globally - educating & lobbying.
When we asked the Austrian policy makers what would have been the most useful lesson before they started their ETS2 ready carbon pricing policy, the answer was:
“To talk to ourselves in 3 years time !”
We are offering legislators active on this implementation the opportunity to talk to people with 3 years hands-on experience on 16th October in Brussels or online for policy makers based in member states.
Goals
The ETS2 is going to impact the costs of every household in every country in Europe

4 个月Hi James Collis thanks for sharing this! I am wondering if you can help me find an evidence on how much of the European Green Deal investments needed will need to come from citizens? There seems to be a rumour of about 55% investments (needed for things which can be influenced by citizens/ people such as renovation, transport, food...) EU-wide (average), but I was not able to confirm this with scientific evidence. As you point out, until now, most implementation policies for the #EuropeanGreenDeal have focused on industry sectors, but ETS2 (starting in 2027) will mean that the impact, involvement of and investment by people/ citizens will come to the foreground, also in EU level policies. Would you be able to point me to an academic source on this field of study?
