The little boy walked along the street, looking for any money he could find. He was hungry, tired and he had not slept for two days. People did not seem to feel sorry for him; they sort of stared at him down their noses as if to say he should keep away from me. But he always remembered that he had a mum who still loved him but had not seen her for days.

Turning the next corner, he wandered into the high street; it was bustling, with lots of shoppers carrying their groceries home with them and others just window shopping. But he had no money and nowhere to go since he had fallen off of the truck that had given him a lift. His leg hurt, and his broken shoe stopped him from walking so fast.

Then in front of him, he saw a twenty-pound note, it had been dropped by someone, and it was going to be his. Quickly he speeded up to get to the note, casually stood on it, and then whistling bent down and picked it up. He put it carefully into his pocket, praying that no one would come along and claim it. But much to his surprise, no one did.

So what first he thought, I know some food in my belly. He saw a MacDonald, he casually walked in and was stared at by all the customers. But he walked casually into the toilets and washed his face and hands, dried them, then walked into the main restaurant ordered a triple burger, fries and a milkshake, paid for it with the £20 note, carefully counted the change and put it back into his pocket. Waited casually for a few minutes, and his meal arrived; he walked over to an empty table, sat down, and ate all of it. The food made his belly feel very full, and he started to feel warmer.

After finishing the food, he went to a clothes shop, bought some clothes and shoes, tried them on in the shop, and then walked to the payment queue. Handed over the rest of his money and was left with the sum of £1.55. But now, he had been fed and clothed, and he felt so much better.??
