"I am skilled and qualified for that job but why didn't they select me?" have you ever felt this after an interview? And for most of us the answer is yes, so what went wrong?
It's simple, the fact you are skilled is really good but you might not made it clear to the interviewer.
How to express yourself in an Interview?
"Tell Me about yourself" is a question that comes first during most interviews and that is your trump card explain about yourself in an impressive and polite manner. So let's see how to answer this simple, but yet important question.
Here are the steps to follow:
- Feel strong and comfortable and never fear for this is not your last chance.
- Practice makes perfect, so write down some points and try to practice it in front of mirror, which will give you new ideas and rectify errors.
- Speak politely with a soft tone, so it is easier to understand and encourages them to hear.
- Make a smile when they face you, this will show them that you are confident and positive which really counts.
- Read the job description and try to figure out their requirements and terms and make sure that you include those points when you speak.
- Be gentle and tell the truth. Never tell lies for there will be cross questions and it could come at anytime so be frank
- Start with your name and home town then move on to your educational qualifications.
- When speaking about your qualification, start from the highest degree you attained for that's what they want to know.
- Then move on to your extracurricular activities, paper presentations or other achievements you did.
- Never speak ill about present or former employers, this could ruin your name.
- Rather speak about your hopes on opportunities or just skip the topic.
- Tell them something about your professional experience and success in previous company.
- If the company has a website, go gather information about them and add a few interesting facts about their company and most interviewers will love this.
- At any point if they ask any cross question, reply with smile and never struck up for this could give a wrong impression.
- Finally make sure you express your positive points clearly and compendiously because you will be given just a few minutes.
Follow these steps and be positive and you may get your dream job. But don't give up for this is not your last chance, may be you deserve something better.
