15 things we wish more women knew about Crypto/NFTs

Last week, dozens of women in Web3 responded to a tweet of mine asking what they wish women knew about crypto and NFTs. I was so impressed with the advice (and not just for women - for any newcomers into the space) that I wanted to aggregate and share broadly beyond just that Twitter thread.?

(1) No Bosses

Welcome to full creative & artistic autonomy - a world where you can make your own art w/o permission or approval to join! It’s where everything is going sooner or later…so why not start sooner

(2) You just expanded your friend circle…to the whole world

There are so many opportunities to network with people around the globe. No matter how random or eclectic your interests are, you WILL find people who share them!

(3) You don’t have to have it figured out

Even the “veterans” and OGs of the space are still super new! We are all learning together. Just jump in and help write the story. All you have to be is open to learning!

(4) It’s the MOST encouraging group of women

I wish women knew how uplifting this community is! Collaboration > competition. More experienced women are so willing to teach newer ones because we truly want more women to have this knowledge?

(5) It doesn’t matter what you did before!

Anybody can be a leader in this space. You can go from zero knowledge to semi-pro in a month! Use whatever skills you have & leverage them for success.?

(6) It’s fun!

It’s creative & fascinating! The learning curve is worth it! Bye-bye online shopping, hello spending hours exploring amazing projects & communities. You’ll have fun & feel so alive!?

(7) Come shape a new industry!

By joining early, we can make this space one of inclusion, equality & love. Web3 is ours to shape/build and our seat is waiting at the table. This is a chance to grow, not shrink.?

(8) We’re here to support you!

This space is so positive and people are so patient and encouraging. There are so many incredible, smart, amazing women in this space that want to help and see you succeed.?

(9) Amazing opportunity to change the world

NFT/crypto can be a force for good! You can find projects that align with your core values. Beyond the jpegs... NFTs are helping thousands of women/POC build autonomy. It’s a revolution.

(10) …And have life-changing financial success while doing it

So many women are having life-changing success with the level of economic opportunity that awaits them. Bitcoin, Crypto, and NFTs are helping women create generational wealth

(11) Take your time and go slow

It’s ok to build your collection ONE PIECE at a time. You haven’t missed the boat…it’s early! Find your community & grow over time! No FOMO - there will always be another project

(12) Doesn’t matter what you look like!

Pseudonyms & avatars are normal, which means you can be judged on your work and your ideas instead of your appearance and external identity.

(13) It’s not as scary as it seems…

The crypto aspect is daunting at first, but it’s all about fun, community & creativity. Women in all stages of their lives can learn & join in. No need to be a tech wiz or have financial savvy.?

(14) The space needs us!

Insights & ideas brought by women will set off an explosion of innovation & growth. Women will be leading the way fwd. if we don’t take up space now, women will be further left out of the conversation going forward.

(15) We’re waiting for you with open arms!

There are so many women already in the space and we’re all waiting for you to join us! Everyone starts at 0, you’re never too late to be part of an amazing community.
