15 Things To Do In (And Around) Great Titchfield Street

Inspired by Time Out’s popular series, we have put together a list of places that can’t be missed if you’re in and around Great Titchfield Street!

1)     Visit Market Place.

Market Place, London, W1 .

Ask anyone to tell you the best bits about Fitzrovia and we can guarantee you Market Place will be on that list! There is something special about the semi-pedestrianised square which is centres around Reiss’ luxurious store at Kent House. Bring a little sun and warmth and the parade is buzzing with diners at the many restaurants and eateries including Honest Burger, Tortilla and Coppa Club. We have no doubt you’ll also enjoy a tipple or two at Market Place Bar with the rest of the creatives on a lovely (and lazy) summers day, and perhaps stumble into their basement club ‘Store Room’, popular with those who have made it out to the later hours of the evening.

2)     Test Out ‘The World’s Most Incredible Bed’ at H?stens.

H?stens – 66-68 Margaret Street, London, W1.

Popular with Kings & Queens, H?stens has a rich history which expands through six generations dating back to 1852, peaking 100 years later when appointed a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Swede, a hallmark of Swedish Quality and top-class Scandinavian Design. A quick visit to their showroom on the junction of Great Titchfield Street and Margaret Street will leave you feeling like a princess (or prince) without the pea!

3)     Get Yourself A Grand Slam Look For The Gym at Bj?rn Borg

Bj?rn Borg – 19 Great Titchfield Street, London, W1.

Named after the Swedish former world No1 Tennis Player, Bj?rn Borg has a showroom on Great Titchfield Street which regularly hosts sample sales of their popular gymwear and underwear.

4)     Have A Meander in Mooi

Mooi – 23 Great Titchfield Street, London, W1.

Whenever you look into Mooi, there is always something new that catches your eye! Working with a list of incredible designers, Mooi sells a range of slender minimalist furniture pieces to marvelling light fixings such as Raimond Tensegrity Floor Lamp by Raimond Puts.

5)     Break Fast With Brunch at Riding House Café

Riding House Café – 43-51 Great Titchfield Street, London, W1.

With the BBC delightfully around the corner, it’s no wonder that the Riding House Café is a favourite with many known faces from our tele boxes. The Riding House Café epitomise the modern British café-restaurant with a cool, raw design and a neighbourly take on hospitality. Whilst you can certainly get your Avo, Eggs and Toast, we would recommend trying the “Ham” & Eggs with a cold sparkling glass of bubbles on a lazy Sunday.

6)     Dare To Try Sm?rrebr?d at ScandiKitchen.

ScandiKitchen – 61 Great Titchfield Street, London, W1.

Made fresh onsite, it isn’t uncommon for there to be queues out the door to buy the famous Danish Open Sandwich or even their well enjoyed meatball mixed salads at ScandiKitchen. In addition to a popular lunchtime trade, ScandiKitchen stocks over 600 traditional and gourmet foods from across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland including Marabou Apelsinkrokant – Milk Chocolate with Orange Crisp which is very popular with the LDG Staff and way better than Terrys in our humblest of opinions!

 7)     Eat Your Way To Mykonos at Meraki

Meraki – 80-82 Great Titchfield Street, London, W1.

Head Chef Athinagoras Kostakos brings a taste of the Greek Isles to Great Titchfield Street with a fantastic Mediterranean menu. The team behind ‘The Attendant’ spent two years of planning and restoration to transform a Victorian public toilet which had been vacant since the 60s into a quirky artisanal coffee bar which still hosts the original (and thoroughly cleaned) Doulton & Co porcelain urinals. 10) Take On 20-Inches At Homeslice

Homeslice Pizza - 52 Well Street, London, W1.

London is very fortunate to have an incredible pizza scene which often leads to a great debate on which pizzeria is the best! Homeslice is certainly up there on the list and stands out for its encouragement of sharing, with 20-inch pizzas for £20 which often take up the whole table! Whilst we wouldn’t encourage putting yourself into a food coma, we have witnessed many a customer tackle a whole pizza to themselves with varying success.

Fitzrovia Chapel – 2 Pearson Square, London, W1.

After many years in the darkness, centring a development site, in 2015 it was restored providing an “oasis within a busy city” and hosts many events including a celebration of Fitzrovia’s LGBT community during LGBT History Month in February as well as hosting Weddings. Whilst visiting, be sure to admire ‘The One and The Many’ public artwork by Peter Randall-Page, sculpted from a 24 tonne naturally eroded granite boulder, within the quiet public Pearson Square which is often a popular location for city picnicking at lunchtimes.
