15 Actions To Turn Your Day Around
All of us find ourselves experiencing negative emotions - at least from time to time. Those emotions can begin to snowball. And before we know it, the whole day starts to feel kind of crummy.
In those moments, we need to become aware of our emotions and call them out. Once identified as non-permanent feelings, we can choose to engage in a 'pivot action' - an action that simply moves us away from the negativity and into a positive emotion.
'Pivot actions' do not need to be at scale. They can be simple, concise actions that simply stop the negative momentum and allow us to more easily turn in a positive direction.
Now experiencing positive emotion, we are able to move forward with the day -and make it a great one!

- Smile at someone and observe them smile back at you.
- Get alone and reflect on 1 specific blessing in your life.
- Get alone and re-connect with your WHY.
- Envision the future you are working towards.
- Re-read complimentary letters or emails you have previously received.
- Read an inspirational quote.
- Scroll through a few pictures of loved ones.
- Watch a brief clip from a movie or TV show that uplifts you.
- Take a walk.
- Eat a healthy snack.
- Drink a large glass of water.
- Text a compliment to a friend.
- Make a reservation for a massage scheduled for the upcoming weekend.
- Clean your desk.
- Answer the one email you have been avoiding for a couple of days.
