The majority voted for 'Profitability' as the most urgent challenge facing shared mobility in 2023; as one commenter rightly pointed out, that depends on who you're asking. Let's see how we get on in 2023!

But of course, with a new week comes a new poll, so let's test your knowledge:  Which of Brussels, Hamburg, and Berlin has the most scooters?

Have a guess!

?? Voi-cing your concerns

On the 8th of February, Voi called for scooter legislation from the UK government.

As the largest shared scooter operator in the UK, two out of three rides were on Voi scooters across the trials, which were put in place to test the popularity of the scooter and to contribute towards the country's sustainability efforts.

After 21.5 million rides in two-and-a-half years, Voi states that the demand for scooters has been proven, yet there is no certainty around them remaining after the end of the trial in May 2024. Another point of contention is that of the level of current regulation: it is the same as that of cars.

The UK may have to act soon, or they may risk Voi scooting off into the sunset...

The European Parliament's Transport and Tourism Committee have voted to adopt a resolution on developing an EU cycling strategy, with one highlight being that cycling is to be recognised as a fully-fledged mode of transport.

The aim is to double the amount of kilometres cycled in Europe by 2030, through a number of initiatives such as significantly increasing investment in cycling infrastructure, and better synergies between cycling and other transport modes.
