Here is a handy little checklist for designers and artists alike to check files efficiently before packaging the files for release.
PROOF/MOCKUP
CUTTER
2. Check that the cutter is the correct scale and referenced to the supplied dieline?
DESIGN
3. Does the artwork match the design intent?
4. Have master elements logos and images been applied correctly acording to brand guidelines?
5. Zoom all the way out, go to wire-frame mode, and check no random items are floating around the artboard.
6. Check the alignment of elements are centred vertically / horizontally
CONSISTENCY
7. Has the artwork been tested across all variants to ensure the elements are consistent across all branding elements and typography?
FILE STRUCTURE
8. Check file structure - turn each lay on individually to ensure the elements are on the correct layers
PRINT SPECS
9. Has the print specs from the printer been applied?
10. Is the raster settings correct?
11. Is the colour space correct?
12. Check that the links are the correct size resolution, in the correct colour space, and fit for purpose.
COLOURS
13. Delete unused swatches
14. Check colour separations
