If I said you had a snake growing out of your head, you would probably think I was weird and you would probably laugh and discard the comment.??
?
But if I said I thought you were ugly, and nobody liked you – you may feel a little rattled or upset by the comment even if you knew consciously that it wasn’t really true.
?
Two comments – one of which may invoke a response and the other is let go.
?
Why?
?
Because the second comment “could” be true and may have triggered a feeling in the body.
?
And then because your mind stores everything, it immediately scans all the records of your entire past to find out when you last felt like this.
?
And it will come up with 100s or even 1,000s of scenes where you have felt uncomfortable – but the main driving force behind your next response or action is very possibly something that happened to you when you just a child specifically in the early years of between 0-7 years old.
?
You may suddenly find yourself reacting.
?
A feeling of anger may come up and you may shout – you may try to defend yourself, you may go on the attack in order to prove to yourself and others that you are right about something, or you may just have a strong feeling of wanting to run away and hide.
?
Because something deep in your subconscious mind has just been triggered.
A memory from your early childhood.
?
When someone said something similar to you – or you felt something similar and you learned to cope with the feeling by hiding it away because it was too painful or embarrassing to deal with for your child brain.
?
But it sits there as an emotion and feeling that acts as an unresolved trauma in the body.? And it gets stuck.?
?
Here are the main root causes for pretty much ALL our childhood traumas that can be triggered in our day to day life:
?
-?????? where you didn’t feel good enough in that moment
-?????? when you felt unsafe
-?????? when you felt unloveable
-?????? when you felt you didn’t belong /didn’t fit it/felt different
-?????? where you felt shame or guilt
-?????? where you felt betrayed
-?????? where you felt rejected / abandoned
-?????? where you felt powerless or helpless
-?????? where you felt judged or criticised
-?????? where you felt unseen/unheard/insignificant
-?????? where you were made to feel unworthy
?
And this is our mental clutter that our mind wants to keep reminding us of, in order to keep us safe and playing small.
?
Because that’s its job – to protect us and keep us safe.

But you’re trying to grow and change.? You’re taking courses and programs and you want to move forwards, but you keep noticing these patterns that seem to happen over and over again.
?
-?????? you attract relationships that always end the same
-?????? you never seem to get the breakthrough in your business or career that you want
-?????? you seem to sabotage yourself with procrastination or impostor syndrome, fear or anxiety that stops you moving forwards
-?????? your money patterns never seem to change
?
In short you feel stuck.
?
Why does this happen?
?
Okay well let me ask you something.
Would you go to the food bin and take out last weeks waste food to create something new for your dinner tonight???
(I hope not!) ??
?
And yet when we allow ourselves to “re-act” in the same way over and over again then this is exactly what we are doing.? We are using the old ‘waste’ from the past to try and create a new future.
?
?We are allowing things like past judgements, criticisms, trauma, rejections, betrayals or anything that we were once fearful of to create our future.?
And when we operate from the past, then our future will be exactly the same and nothing will change.
Every time we “re-act” we are allowing our subconscious mind to have control over our day.? Our subconscious mind runs on mini programs that it has learned to do and has stored – like a computer ‘batch’ program.
?
These reactions come from the beliefs and feelings that we have created about ourself from years ago.
?
How to create a new future
1)??? Decide on the area of your life you are not happy with – i.e relationships, finances, business or career
2)??? Notice the pattern that is playing out and the reactions you keep having.? Hint: ANY negative thought or feeling is a pattern or reaction that is being triggered from the PAST. Bring it in to your awareness so that you notice what is happening.
3)??? ?The reactions you have are "hiding" something that lies beneath - a thought or a belief that you hold about yourself. See if you can dig deep to find out why you were being triggered in that moment.
4) Decide if this belief is working for you - and could you choose to believe something else (yes it really CAN be that simple).
5) But if you don't know what the underlying beliefs are - have a look at the list above of the root causes of most issues. Close your eyes and say them to yourself and see if any feel heavy within you.
6) Still stuck? Message me for a free consultation where I can talk you through how to release stuck patterns.

1 年I think that is fascinating that our sabotaging thoughts relate back to something that happened to us at such an early age. So important to get a grip of this and declutter it out of our mind. Great article thanks Nicky.
