13 underrated hacks for Freelancers to release Work Stress & Anxiety

It’s important to pause & reflect. Stay mentally & physically healthy while you embrace the “Hustle Culture”. ??

We frequently highlight the freedom and adaptability that a freelancer affords, and we stand by that statement. But the effects a freelancing career has on our mental health is one aspect of freelancing that isn't discussed enough.?

Being your own boss and managing a freelancing business is thrilling and gratifying. But on occasion, it may also be frightening, isolating, and stressful. Along with the various responsibilities and demands of life, managing several projects and being your own boss come with a lot of duties. It can all become too much to handle.

Talking through problems you are having is therapeutic. But if the persons in your support system work 9 to 5, they won't be able to show you the empathy you need to get through it. This may result in feelings of isolation and repressed worry, which may eventually cause chronic stress and depression. You're not alone. Since the beginning of freelancing, people have experienced phases of happiness and anguish.

Here are 13 ways that we have found to be effective in battling freelancer anxiety and depression.

1. Take control of your time. Take a 5-10 minute break after an hour of work.?

2. Clean your room & workspace every day. Cluttering can affect our stress & anxiety levels. Decluttering will help move past the stress and anxiety.

3. Practice breathing techniques every day for 5-10 minutes.

4. Move your body. Walk during your work or consultation calls. Stretch your body. It’s necessary for you to do that.

5. Choose work that you love & try to delegate other tasks to your team if you have one.

6. Set rules. Switch off your Digital tools at least an hour before your sleep. We can’t stress this enough but it’s very necessary that you follow this.

7. Digital Detox once a week or month.

8. Learn to say NO. Understand that you'll not miss out on anything.?

9. Look out for a quick stress reliever- something you love doing- Cook your favourite meal, Pet your dog, Listen to music.

10. Call or Message your School or College Friend.?

11. Yoga/ Meditation/ Exercise/Journaling: Develop a healthy habit.

12. Planning your work a day before can help you with last-minute rush & anxiety.?

13. Give out to the community - donate, volunteer or help someone in need.
