13 Tips to Improve Your Health and Physical Fitness

Being healthy is a lifestyle which you need to incorporate in your life eventually and doesn't mean some random detox plan or an extreme diet plan which leaves you leaner but weaker and sick at the same time. Here are some health and fitness tips that would make you feel a lot better and improve your life for good.

1. Find a workout plan you love - Cultivate a habit out of certain workout plans or sport you really like, that way it won’t feel like a chore, and it will be something you’re excited to do. Lifting weights, jogging, dance, football, playing with kids - could be anything your heart is excited to do. Doing this makes you feel a lot better each day.

2. Always stay positive: gratitude is the magic! - It is a known fact that ungrateful and complaining people are seldom happy. You won’t feel healthy if you aren’t enjoying little things in your life, positive feelings are sorts of fuel that give us healthy life experience. Don't trade your happiness for anything in the world.

3. Take water often – Yes, always keep a water bottle around you. Eventually, you will realize that you are drinking enough water to keep your body properly hydrated, which helps your body metabolism and immunity. Try to keep a narrow and handy bottle and preferably a stainless steel bottle rather than plastic one. You can infuse it with lemon, mint leaves, orange slices etc. for more benefits and flavors.

4. Be selective with what you eat - Get rid of all the junk food, packaged snacks, sweets, beverages etc. and pledge never to buy them again. Don’t go grocery shopping empty stomach else you’ll end up buying loads of fried snacks. 

5. Make a healthy diet plan with colorful vegetables and fruits - Vegetables and fruits have important nutrients and vitamins essential for our body. It is good not to fry them in oil, that could deplete their nutrient value. Instead, you can boil them a little to improve taste. 

You can use olive oil for cooking instead of polyunsaturated fatty acids cooking oils which are dangerous to our health.

6. Wash hands frequently - We unknowingly gather a lot of bacteria in our palm which later make us fall sick often. Wash your hands frequently with hand- wash under running water and you can avoid many microbial infections and diseases. Hand sanitizers are best used when the hands are clean and free of dirt.

7. Don't always trust weighing scale - There are many factors which can cause the scale to fluctuate, like water retention, hormonal imbalance, bone density etc, thereby discouraging you from going on with your fitness plans, Don’t always make your weight as the criteria to measure your fitness progress. You can use tape to track inch loss and also how energetic you feel overall.

8. Allow some gap between dinner and sleep Keep a gap of at least two hours between dinner and sleep to avoid acidity, heart burn and gastric reflux. Eating light and early dinner can make you much healthier.

9. Avoid food and drinks of extreme temperatures - It is advisable to go for lukewarm food and water, instead of piping hot food or cold beverages. Also, you can take water cooled in earthen pot instead of refrigerator.

10. Cold/hot shower - It needs a lot of courage but showering with cold water can wake your body up with a jolt and can make you feel active the entire day. Also, doing the same with warm water before bedtime will relaxes your nerves thereby reducing pains and stress.

11. Take time-off from work once in a while Excessive laboring or over-working isn’t wise unless it’s somehow necessary. Take breaks no matter how little (short breaks make a difference) , go out to breathe fresh air, for brunch and meeting friends, watch sunsets and embrace the beauty of disconnecting from everything once in a while.

12. Use Sunlight - Unless there is a disease condition or skin ailment which forbids you from going out, at least 20 minutes of exposure to sunlight per day will you a lots of good. Tanning and freckles are far less important than low immunity and sick body.

13. Go social - Online networking can help your inspiration and keep you on target. Report your wellness objectives on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. You'll be surprised how much people are willing to help. They'll mobilize behind you, offer tips, and steer you away from missing an exercise or keeping a bad habit.
