13 SEO Hacks to Grow Your Site Traffic Faster

13 SEO Hacks to Grow Your Site Traffic Faster

Growing site traffic is a tough job, whether you've been in business for a long time or are just starting. To stand out, you need to create engaging content, optimize for search, and refine your SEO strategies.

Worry not; I've compiled a list of 13 hacks to help you outdo competitors trying to attract the same audience.

1.????? Boost key pages with internal links:

GSC link analysis reports are your friend for finding key pages on your website that you want to rank higher. Naturally, link the pages' content with relevant anchor texts three clicks from the homepage.

You can also get the job done with Frase and Yoast SEO tools.

2.????? Reclaim your lost links

Outbound links (pointing to your site) may break over time. Look for them using backlink analysis tools like SEMrush or Ahrefs. On Ahrefs, go to site audit, then project, followed by external pages, and check for links with HTTP status code- 4xx.

Reach out to the linking websites and request that they update the links to point to the correct URLs on your site. Follow the same process to check broken internal links.

You can also check crawl errors in GSC to find the broken links or use Screaming Frog SEO Spider. If you are on WordPress, consider installing a broken link checker plugin.

3.????? Optimize the title tags of your top-ranking pages

Title tags of your highest-ranking pages can be a good traffic source if optimized well for search. Check them and ensure they accurately include relevant keywords.

Update any title tags that are generic or not optimized to help search engines and visitors understand the context of your pages.

4.????? Optimize the low-hanging Featured Snippets

Bullets, lists, tables, and videos are great for earning your brand a spot in the Featured snippets. So, look for well-ranking content yet to feature as a snippet and structure it so search engines can pull featured snippets from it. You can also provide clear and concise answers to common questions to get a win in the 'People Also Ask' section.

Use RankWatch or Twinword to find which of your target keywords have featured snippets.

5.????? Target long-tail keywords you already rank for separately

Targeting your well-performing long-tail keywords (low-hanging fruits) with solo content is also handy for boosting traffic. First, head to your Google Search Console and check the search report to know which keywords lead visitors to your site. Turn on Average CTR and Position. Scroll down, then click the Filter icon and choose Position.

Sort the keywords and target high-ranking phrases—above position 7. Then, create new content targeting these keywords to improve your rankings and attract more targeted traffic.

6.????? Tap into HARO (Help A Reporter Out)

HARO is a platform where reporters ask for help on different topics.

It is free, so sign up and subscribe to relevant categories to stay on top of incoming queries from journalists. Answer them with helpful insights related to your expertise or industry.

7.????? Find guest post opportunities

Research websites and blogs in your industry that are accepting guest publishers. An easy way to find them is to use a Google search operator— inurl: = "write for us" (your niche/topic)

Next, reach out to these websites with pitches for guest posts that provide valuable insights about what their audience likes.

8.????? Refresh old content and fill content gaps

Old is Gold; if not, it can help you win big in SEO. Look for older pieces of content that could benefit from updates or additional information. A content analysis template will be handy for noting gaps that can be filled with new content on your site.

Ensure you identify keywords competitors rank for and those you already want to rank for. I prefer the SEMrush Keyword Gap tool to compare my keyword profile and filter top-ranking pages.

It'll also be wise to check the SERPs and research customer needs to get content ideas. Focus on creating better pieces that provide unique value for your brand and answer audience questions.

9.????? Find low-competition keywords

Use keyword research tools to identify long-tail keywords with low competition and decent search volume. Target these keywords in your content creation calendar to improve your chances of ranking higher in search results.

10.?? Create a Google Business Profile

It is key for local businesses to own a Google My Business account. Complete yours with accurate information about your business, including your address, phone number, website, and business hours. Update your information regularly based on business changes and needs.

Also, optimize your profile with real business images, keywords, and a custom description of up to 750 words. Remember to encourage satisfied customers to leave positive reviews to boost your profile's visibility and customer trust.

11.?? Guide your visitors with a table of contents (TOC)

For long-form content, create a table of contents at the beginning of the page to help users navigate the content faster. It'll be wise to keep yours simple with H2s and H3s. Feel free to inject some long-form keywords to help Google understand your content. The user experience will also sour, boosting session duration and scroll depth.

12.?? Add FAQ sections (to get long-tail traffic)

Identify everyday questions and concerns related to your industry or products/services. Create an FAQ section on your website with keyword-rich questions using Schema Markup.

Answer the questions in detail, using natural language, and include links to other pages. The FAQs will help you target voice search queries and rank in Google Featured Snippets.

13.?? Turbocharge website loading time

A caching plugin is your best friend for helping users access your website faster. Ensure you choose a caching plugin aligned with your content management system (CRM). Some of the most powerful plugins for WordPress include WP Rocket, WP Fastest Cache, and Hummingbird. After installing and activating your plugin, configure its settings to enable caching for your website's pages and assets.

Now is the time to act on these hacks if you've struggled to rev up site traffic. Remember, SEO is all about continuous improvement. Regularly dedicate time to review performance to stay ahead of the competition. If you need help, message me. I'll help you fine-tune your marketing strategy and fix SEO pitfalls.
