1.3 million sq. ft let at iPort, Doncaster

After literally years of negotiations, construction of a link road from Junction 3 of the M18 to the Robin Hood Airport and a £50 million infrastructure commitment the iPort development has secured its second occupier with a 1,100,000 sq. ft pre-let to a well-known American retailer.

The new unit will sit on a site of some 50 acres (roughly 28 x Wembley Football pitch) and is due for completion in Summer 2017. In all the building will be half a kilometre long, with 82 loading doors to one elevation and will have parking for a further 244 HGV’s.

In addition to the pre-let the global retailer has also taken a new lease upon the 215,600 sq ft speculative unit IP2a adjacent to the rail terminal.

iPort is a scheme which Gent Visick have been involved with over the last five years and it is hugely exciting that, with the infrastructure in place, strong occupier demand exists for the scheme. It also shows that, despite Brexit, occupiers are committing to large scale projects to service the UK market.

With a total area of some 337 acres there is still the potential to develop out a further 4 million sq ft.

Joint agents are CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield.
