13 High Ousegate, York

Acting for a private landlord ReesDenton, together with Asset Managers Cedar Harp, have let 13, High Ousegate in York to York based restauranteur, Ate O’Clock.

After obtaining Planning Consent for a mixed A1 and A3 use for the Grade II listed building, Ate O’Clock, who have traded for over 20 years from adjoining premises in High Ousegate, are expanding their business to provide a wider range of dining options and more space for their existing successful restaurant.

David de Silva of Ate O’Clock said that “The additional space will enable us to cater for a more varied menu and to attract new customers with our more prominent frontage on High Ousegate, one of the busiest streets in York. We are aiming to open for the Christmas season following an extensive fit out of the property. We look forward to welcoming customers old and new to our new premises.”

David Landy of London based Cedar Harp said “ Despite the difficult trading conditions found on many high streets our client’s policy of investing in good property in strong trading locations has been shown to be sound with this letting to Ate O’Clock. We look forward to working with them on the improvement of the property and to seeing their business continue to grow. We were impressed by their professional approach and the detailed analysis they provided of the dining patterns of their customers and how this would be reflected in their use for the property.

Working with David Thompson of ReesDenton was a pleasure and fully justified our choice for them to act as letting agents for the property, with their extensive local knowledge of the York market”

David Thompson of ReesDenton said, “it is always a privilege to work in the centre of historic York and very satisfying when the result is helping a long established local business expand and develop in the City. I wish Ate O’clock all the best with their plans for the future and I am looking forward to popping into the expanded restaurant as soon as it opens”.
