The Uniqueness Challenge
Hey there, young innovators! ??
Welcome to the kick-off and first exciting week of our #12weekchallenge for teen entrepreneurs! This week is all about discovering what makes you unique and how to turn that into a killer business idea.
Let's dive in!
What's This Week About?
This week, we're focusing on finding your Unique Selling Proposition (USP).
In simple terms, it's what makes your business idea special and different from everyone else's.
We'll help you uncover your strengths, and passions, and create a vision for your future business.
My Own Journey: From Professor to Entrepreneur
Before we jump into your challenges, let me share a bit about my own journey.
I used to be a professor in "Simulation and Human Factors in Medicine". Sounds complicated? Well, it was about helping surgeons to use surgical robots and other technology and make no errors - at all! We had this cool idea for a spine simulator to train surgeons.
When I tried to get my ideas into the wider market or the MedTech corporates, I kept hearing "no". It was frustrating, but it made me realize something important: sometimes, to make a real difference, you need to create your own path - and better your own business.
So, we built our first startup. It wasn't easy at first.
I had to learn a lot, get help from mentors, and be brave enough to take that big leap. But you know what?
It paid off! Our training courses became super popular with big medical companies. We were making a real difference in how doctors learned and worked.
The coolest part? I got to combine my love for research with solving real-world problems. And that's what being an entrepreneur is all about! The business is still running - see on LinkedIn at Realists Training Technologies
In the meantime, I built several other startups - the latest was TEC ONE : the community for solopreneurs and a coaching business.
Teen Entrepreneur Spotlight
Now, let's talk about someone closer to your age who's crushing it in the business world. Meet Karla Elena Ceballos !
Karla started her entrepreneurial journey as a teenager. She realized she had a knack for languages and digital marketing. Instead of waiting to "grow up" to start her business, she jumped right in!
Today, Karla is a successful fractional CMO (that's Chief Marketing Officer) specializing in health tech. She helps companies translate their messages not just into different languages, but in a way that really connects with people from different cultures.
What's amazing about Karla's story is how she combined her language skills with her interest in technology and healthcare. She found her unique angle and ran with it!
Check out her LinkedIn profile and her story in the "@TEC ONE Stories Podcast".
It just goes to show that you're never too young to start making your mark on the world!
