Scaling agencies with elite talent: From headhunting unicorns to crafting high-performance teams that drive exponential growth.
You know that one thing on your to-do list that lingers?
We have ALL been there.
The task you keep rewriting in different formats, hoping it’ll somehow feel less daunting?
It is on every to-do list in different colours...
Yeah, that one.
Fear loves to plant itself there, feeding on your hesitation. But here’s the truth: fear only lasts for a moment. Once you act, it loses its grip.
The secret is to stop overthinking and start moving, and that’s where Mel Robbins’ 5-Second Rule comes in.
When you feel that hesitation creep in, please don't hesitate to interrupt it. Close your eyes, count down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1—and go.
Like a rocket breaking free from gravity, the hardest part is the start. But once you’re in motion, everything feels lighter, and the fear you were holding onto vanishes. It’s not about perfection; it’s about momentum.
Here are a few tips to help you get started:
1. Visualize the Finish Line: As you count down, picture how good it will feel to complete the task. Relief, pride, and freedom are waiting on the other side.

2. Break It Down: If the task is too big, you can focus on the first step. Count down and take that one small action—it’s often all you need to get the ball rolling.
3. Set a Timer: Give yourself 10 minutes to dive in. Often, once you start, you’ll keep going. But if not, at least you’ve chipped away at the task.
4. Celebrate Progress: Every small win deserves recognition. Even starting deserves a little cheer—because starting is the most challenging part!
The 5-Second Rule is your tool for interrupting fear and launching into action but remember: life isn’t just about ticking off tasks. It’s about connection. The real magic happens when you talk to people, share ideas, and collaborate. Those scary conversations? Those intimidating emails? They’re all opportunities to connect, and connection is where growth truly begins.
And if you want to dive deeper into authentic communication, don’t miss our next podcast episode with Ben, the UK's Most Hated Sales Trainer.
