BioHive Wraps Up Food Drive

776 pounds of food later, the BioHive food drive is officially over! Thank you to everyone who donated.

A special shout out to?Denali Therapeutics,?Engage Contracting Inc.,?Seek Labs,?Blackrock Neurotech, and the tenants of Industry SLC Workspace for donating in their offices all month long. This food will help serve hungry Utahns in our community all over the state.

In addition to all the food donated, we raised over $1000 dollars, providing nearly $10k in monetary impact for the Food Bank and the people they serve.

The state released a new Funding Portal this week with the goal of centralizing all state and selective federal funding opportunities into a searchable database.

Inspire Utah invites Utah companies to apply to be considered to receive this designation. Company representatives can nominate their organizations to be recognized and highlighted as one of the 100 Companies Championing Women by completing the following application. Applicants should know detailed information about the policies, programs, and initiatives their company has implemented.

STEM Best Practices Conference - Call for Presenters

The STEM Action Center is looking for presenters for their Best Practices Conference for educators. We know there are many people in our state doing creative and innovative things in STEM, and we want to hear about it! This year’s theme is "Invention, Innovation, and Making." All sessions are 60 minutes and need a hands-on component. If you or someone you know would be interested in being a presenter, please consider applying.

Utah officially launches the Utah Innovation Fund.

The Utah Innovation Fund was created by the State of Utah to elevate Utah's economy by commercializing technologies discovered, advanced, or developed at Utah's higher education institutions.

Their mission is to support and fund promising startups working on innovative solutions to the world's most pressing problems.

“Ultimately, what we'd love to see is a very robust, deep tech venture capital ecosystem and that the fund ... becomes much less needed because the market is solving it itself…At the end of the day, if there was a market solution to this, we wouldn't be doing it. We only fill this gap ... that's really the goal, that they can go out now and raise more money to be able to support their own company." - Rep. Jefferson Moss.
