121 Hours of Work in a Week

Being the most influential person on the planet, Elon Musk has inspired many young generations; me too.

It's been a time, but recently I have gone through his interview and I wanted to try this out. It's crazy to work 120 hours, but it's something to give it a try.

So, I started it from 11 October 2021 until 17th October 2021, which means 120 hours further breakdown to approximately 17.14 hours in 1 day, that is insane. Whereas, in those 17 hours I will be removing 8 hours of professional/office work now left of 9 hours.

Therefore, for those 9 hours, I will be working on my project, learning new technology which keeps me updated, reading, and writing.

High-Level Plan:

  • 24 hours in a day
  • 17 hours of work
  • 6 hours of sleep and 1-hour for miscellaneous things.
  • 8 hours office work
  • 9 hours personal project | self-development | reading | writing | learning

Does and Don't

  • I will not cook, order only.
  • I will not watch any entertainment shows or movies; educational / tutorials are allowed.
  • I will not exercise for more than 15 minutes. 5 - 10 min sprint exercise allowed.
  • I have uninstalled Facebook and Instagram, without removing it's next to impossible.

Time Tracking - Rachit Mehrotra

With so firm plan, you won't remember your schedule, so that is why I used Clockify for my time tracking. It helps me track my time and which tasks I want to start and for how long.

I have taken leave on Friday but; still followed my weekday schedule.

At the end of the week, I wanted to write it down how much I have gained with such a tight plan.

Accomplishment

  1. Read 50% from a book(Atomic Habits) and also many miscellaneous articles.
  2. Completed 10 hours of learning videos.
  3. Accomplished 11 Microservices of my project.
  4. Fulfilled 4 portals of my projects.
  5. Written 4 articles, including this.
  6. Office/Professional Work

To not be distracted or to be highly focused and to achieve this I have a 5-7 minute break in between, just too fresh up and again continue the work.

Breakdown:121 hours

  • 121 hours - 40 hours = 81 hours {professional work}
  • 81 hours - 20 hours = 61 hours {microservice work}
  • 61 hours - 20 hours = 41 hours {portal work}
  • 41 hours - 20 hours = 21 hours {educational video}
  • 21 hours - 10 hours = 11 hours {reading}
  • 11 hours - 09 hours = 02 hours {exercise}

Conclusion

It was fun to try this occasionally, but when it comes to long-term goals, 120 or 121 hours of working is?extravagance, whereas if you are consistent 80-90-100 hours are just fine or good.

And also I tried to go extreme, but I only made it until 119 hours.

That's all folks. Follow me on here.
