121 – Charitable causes for problematic pilgrims

A new?episode of?Anecdotally Speaking?is available!?To listen to?Charitable causes for problematic pilgrims,?click here.

This week, Mark is back after a 5-week outback adventure! Shawn welcomes his cohost back to the show, then shares the story of how Wunsiedel, a small town in Germany, tricked neo-Nazis into raising thousands of euros for EXIT Deutschland, an anti-extremist charity.

The story?makes several?meaningful business points, including:

  • Think beyond the obvious solution. You’ll likely find a more effective one;
  • There is value in thinking differently; and
  • You can trigger a change without establishing rules.

I heard about this in a book I read - Humankind by Rutger Bregman I think. Really funny way of taking small mindedness and turning it on its head.
