12,000 reasons....

12,000 reasons....

On Sunday the 12th of March I was sat 12,000 feet up with my legs dangling over the edge of a teeny-tiny aircraft waiting to throw myself to the earth....

What a total insane thing to do right. Yup - you know I started to seriously cry at 10,000 feet and told my co-jumper I had changed my mind. He literally talked me down...

So I was going to Las Vegas for a friends 50th and I decided that I was going to jump over the Grand Canyon. Hmmm I know I am still not sure why or how this occurred.

I decided I would raise money for charity and my first thoughts were a mental health charity as we really need to continue to de-stigmatize mental health ....I also thought about an Autism charity as my youngest son has Asperger's and again this is an issue that is hugely misunderstood. So these were my two choices....then I heard about a family in our local area in need of help.I know that if I had not been jumping for this amazing family, I would definitely have come back down the less terrifying way in the plane :)

A mum had been diagnosed with cancer, she is 25 years old with two gorgeous young children. Dad had to basically stop working to be with the children and also support his wife whilst she was having chemotherapy. Not only were they facing this terrifying illness, they could not focus on that they had to also worry about money. So even though I did not know this family I asked if I could raise money to offer my support.

I am sharing this story as I am still raising money for the family and would so appreciate some more support! You can donate and read the story below.
