ATLANTA, GA -- Tired of seeing poor Black men get killed and portrayed negatively, a 12-year-old boy of Jamaican and Indian descent, along with his Ivy League-educated father, recently launched ILoveABlackMan.com – an innovative online gift site working to end racism against African Americans by facilitating random acts of kindness, creating a new approach to the Black Lives Matter movement. Now, millions with varying knowledge of African American men’s life experiences, can get to know their personal stories and send them uplifting care packages anonymously to help bridge the racial divide.

Comedian Dave Chappelle recently dubbed it the kindness conspiracy, which is the term he uses to promote random acts of kindness for Black people. “Do something nice for a Black person just because they're Black... The same way, all them years, they did terrible things to Black people just because they're Black, and they didn't deserve it,” says Chappelle.

“The fact is, young Black men are much more likely to be killed by police and live in poverty than White men in America, and this racial inequality has been increasing over recent years,” says Colin McNab, co-founder of ILoveABlackMan.com. “I wanted to flip the script and show my son that we can do great things; do something good and positive, in order to make millions of African American men and boys feel like they matter… like we matter.”

The site offers curated care packages based on some of the things that Black men tend to like, from entertainment and technology to DIY and self-care. Packages come in three different price points, starting at only $49, so each user can choose one that fits their budget. Send a package in just 3 easy steps: select a recipient – either someone familiar or random, pick a care package, and then write a message to the recipient. After the recipient receives his package, the site prompts him to upload photos of himself using the gifts, along with a thank you message, for the sender to see online.

“ILoveABlackMan.com is a novel way to feature Black men in a positive light, defying the negative stereotypes, and letting others get to know Black men, understand us, and realize that we are not all superhuman. We are just human, and we deserve to live, to thrive, and to be happy,” says McNab. “Most importantly, taking five minutes to send an uplifting care package is an easy way to show some love and kindness to a Black man; to not just say that Black lives matter, but show it too.”

Visit the website today to send a care package to someone you know, send care packages automatically to up to 100 random recipients, or tell your story as a Black man to receive a gift, and follow twitter.com/ILoveABlackMan on social media for updates.
