12-year-old Boston Continues to Fundraise for Stollery Children’s Hospital

We wanted to update you on Fort McMurray’s very own hometown hero, Boston.?Some of you might remember that about a year ago, we did a story on Boston and his support of the Stollery Children’s hospital in Edmonton.?Diversified partnered with the hospital’s foundation by turning our annual fun run into a charity event, and we managed to raise a total of $5400 for the Stollery.?

As we were planning the fundraiser, the hospital introduced us to Boston. He was diagnosed with a hole in his heart as an infant and has bravely undergone 16 surgeries in his young life – the first being open heart surgery at just nine months old. To promote he event, we asked Boston to design his idea of the perfect bus, and after we wrapped one of our buses with his creativity, the result was amazing!

Boston visits the Stollery every year for a checkup, and he hasn’t stopped giving back to the world-class children’s hospital that saved his life. Boston and his mom Nancy have remained strong supporters and have led numerous successful fundraising efforts for the Stollery over the years.

He recently organized a fundraising campaign with his Out of School group at St. Kateri School in Fort McMurray.?They raised an impressive $7,166.25, which they presented to the Children’s Hospital.

We’re proud that we were able to support such a worthwhile organization, and we want to congratulate Boston on another terrific fundraiser! We wish Boston and his family continued health and happiness.
