12 Strokes That Transformed My Life Forever.

Close to 10 years ago, I left the house on a beautiful dawn like today, alive, alert and highly terrific. Had I known that it will turn out to become a day hard to forget and a day of uncontrollable tears, I would have disappeared.

I was dressed up cute and fine, white shirt on a navy blue pant and a lovely short tie. I bounced like bubble of lather from a good soap solution. I graced the pathway to my school like virgin okra smoothly riding on a grater.

8.5 hours into the day, I found myself on a podium--an unforgettable platform, not for a public address, but to be flogged and trashed 12 huge strokes before a 500+ procession.

For what? Unbeknownst to me, for a financial forgery done in my name!

Ah, no explanation could suffice the strokes, no shout of past integrity could save me, no testimony of my uprightness brought the miracle I dearly hungered for.

I cried my heart out, my body shook like it'd jumped out of its casement, my hands were cold, my skin bled, I longed for a revenge, I felt rage within, I was cut through the centre. Aaaargh!

But within 1 week, the truth didn't slack, it came running to my rescue. It gently cleared the mess, but the scars of the strokes remained.

Anyway, I will never know how much it cost Jesus to see my sin upon the cross. The same way it is really hard for a mother to fully explain the pain of childbirth, but the joy of newness surpass the pain of delivery.

Ah, but in 1 year, I went back to that same podium celebrated to lead that whole 500+ procession for a period of 12 months.

I had to forgive because God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in Him should not perish in pain, challenges, worries, unemployment, divorce, sickness, lack and trails but have ever-lasting, abundant and gracious life.
