The 12-step program

The 12-step program emphasizes one day at a time; sometimes one hour or one minute at a time. When things are painful, time goes so slow. But when things are good time flies so fast it is hard to catch up with it. Happiness is fleeting because time goes faster when we are joyful versus sad and gray. Still, in every plodding one day at a time, find one moment of exquisite beauty that provides a flare. It can be someone’s smile, a flower petal, a brilliant lost leaf, or even an ant or spider busy with their work.
