SAN FRANCISCO, October 10th 2022 - Take off for the Global start-up program 3rd edition, landing today in S. Francisco with 12 startups to join the 8 weeks of acceleration program sponsored? by ITA Los Angeles in Silicon Valley. This year the program is managed in collaboration with? Runway Innovation Hub and its partner? ENRICH in the USA - The European Network of Research and Innovation Centers and implemented at their?coworking space in the Embarcadero District in San Francisco.
Global startup is the? acceleration program launched by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in late 2019 in close cooperation with the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, that every year? train and promote over 150 Italian startups abroad, in 10 selected countries around the globe,?to support Italian talents and news products in the most attractive foreign markets.
The San Francisco cohort is part of a larger US program involving other destinations such as New York, Chicago, Houston, attracting over 60 startups.
"We are very thrilled to host again? in S. Francisco the? Global start program 2023," said Alessandra Rainaldi -? the Italian Trade Commissioner at the Los Angeles office. "This year we welcome 12 Italian startups active in different sectors of innovation: green with environment and smart mobility, life sciences and medical devices, wine, design and content platform, and finally art-cultural digitalization."
"We believe that accelerating in California - the 1st economy in the US - is undoubtedly a very challenging experience for our Italian start-up. Silicon Valley is still considered - in the global market - the land of innovation, due to its historical concentration of talents, research and knowledge, bigtech and with the larger presence of VC and funds. So, our start-ups have a great opportunity to take part in this ecosystem for the next 8 weeks and we really wish they can acquire and develop the real Silicon Valley mindset."
The program will be?very intensive with?mentorship, pitch presentations and strategic visits to the local environment. The first official Kick-Off Event organized by Runway is scheduled on October 13 starting from 5:00 PM PST, where the San Francisco cohort of the GSUP 3rd edition will present themselves to venture capitalists, mentors and potential clients, then there will be a networking opportunity afterward.?
The final step?will end on December 1st when our startup will pitch at the ITALIAN?DEMO DAY in front of investors, business angels, and other stakeholders. The Demo Day this year will be hosted? at INNOV.IT (www.innovitsf.com) - the Italian HUB opened in 2021 in San Francisco by the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and managed by the ITA Agency through the Los Angeles office.
