12 Important Money Promises You Should Make To Yourself

Hey Friend,

What are some money promises you make to yourself?

Picture yourself standing in front of a mirror and making a solemn money promise to yourself.

You are thinking, as a STEM professional, I have the skills to solve complex problems... so getting my finances in order should be manageable.?

You make a promise to yourself to save diligently, track your expenses, and invest wisely. For the first few months, you stick to your budget, resist the urge to splurge on gadgets, and eat out less frequently.?

But as your workload increased, so did your stress. You find relief in retail therapy and spur-of-the-moment trips with friends.?

Your money promises slowly slip away. Before you know it,? you are? in more debt than ever.?

Your promises feel like a distant memory. You are now overshadowed by unplanned expenses and missed opportunities for savings.?

So, you have a choice to make, do I continue to make promises or do I avoid the pain of failure.

I want to encourage you to continue to make promises to yourself.?

Because, promises are voluntary deals we make with ourselves. These deals can increase self trust, self pride and reduce uncertainty about future behavior.?

Here are 12 important money promises I made to myself:

?1. I promise to myself I will speak lovingly to myself. I can only do this by reframing my negative thoughts.

2. I promise to myself I will take care of my needs before my wants. I can only do this by clearly identifying and focusing on my needs.?

3. I promise to myself that I will choose my debts wisely. I can only do this by refocusing, gaining control and setting a plan for my money.

4. I promise to myself to remember the lessons of past money mistakes. I can only do this by reflecting on the pain and shame of past experiences.

5. I promise to myself I will? maintain a positive money attitude. I can only do this by choosing my words carefully and the impact they have on others.

6. I promise to myself that I won’t compromise my values for money. I can only do this by reflecting on the positive lessons my parents taught me.

7. I promise to myself that I will pursue my deepest dreams and passionate goals. I can only do this by clearly understanding what brings me happiness.

8. I promise to myself that I will not overspend due to peer pressure. I can only do this by staying calm and confident in the face of criticism.

9. I promise to myself to make saving and planning for retirement a priority. I can only do this by becoming responsible for my own retirement.

10. I promise to myself to celebrate my large or small money successes. I can only do this by creating positive life energy.

11. I promise to myself to embrace both my financial strengths and weaknesses. I can only do this if I display an unconditional acceptance of yourself.

12. I promise to myself to spend less hours working and more hours with family and friends. I can only do this if I have a balanced work-life.

Money promises are not an all-or-nothing thing. It is a journey of one step at a time. Each step closer to your promise is worth celebrating. By making and keeping your promises, you can build a healthier relationship with money and a more fulfilling life. I promise.?
