The Mark Growth publication publishes articles on everything marketing and growth hacking.
In the last 173 days, it has grown by ~37% from 28k to 45k subscribers and isn’t looking to slow down anytime soon. Mark Growth has added nearly 400 new writers through SMedian, so if you are interested in writing for the fastest growing growth hacking publication, request to contribute through SMedian. The Writing Cooperative is a very special publication. It is made up of writers of varying experience levels that have a share interest of “Helping each other write better”. In the last year, it’s grown from under 20k subscribers to now nearly 66k.
According to SMedian, in the last 169 days, it’s grown from 41k subscribers to ~66k subscribers. Much of their success might be attributed to the fact that they’ve added over 420 new writers in the last year. They are growing by 144 new subscribers a day and don’t seem to be satisfied with their new rank of the 40th most followed publication on Medium.

In the last 170 days, SMedian shows that Johnson Kee and company has grown their publication, 100 Naked Words from 19k to 42k subscribers. That is a growth rate of ~137 new subscribers per day. With a mission as simple as “100 vulnerable words, one day a time. Every day.” they have managed to attract over 200 new writers through SMedian and will continue on this nice curve.
Because 100 Naked Words has grown by over 54% in the last 170 days, they are not even featured on the list of top Medium publications Mubashar Iqbal. With 42.8k subscribers, they would be #68. It might help that the publication secured its spot on SMedian as the first publication on the list on 242 publications advertised on the platform:
As you can see in the hourly heat map provided by SMedian from this morning, clicks on their name accounts for 2% of clicks anywhere on SMedian’s homepage for that hour. That might also explain why they have among the highest number of requests to contribute on the platform.

Request to Contribute to HackerNoon
In an earlier version of this article, I lauded my friend David Smooke for his fascinating ability to grow a publication from zero to thousands of subscribers seemingly overnight. HackerNoon is just another creation of his company’s, AMI. The publication describes itself as “how hackers start their afternoons” and they recently threw a party in San Francisco to celebrate reaching 100k subscribers in what I believe is record breaking time in this age of Medium where the early adopters have already staked their claim to the land.
If you haven’t taken a look at the graph above, it shows how HackerNoon has grown their subscribers by over 57% in just the last 174 days at the time of this writing. I believe that is, by far, the greatest growth of all publications in this list. On May 5th, they grew by over 1250 subscribers and average 451 per day. That is astonishing growth. I guess they have a leg up given they focus on the industry of today and tomorrow. Either way, they are on to something great and their growth will only continue.

Request to Contribute to ThinkGrowth
ThinkGrowth (previously ReadThink) by HubSpot delivers unique “Stories, insights, & ideas to help you and your business grow”. They are growing by 196 subscribers a day, and over the last 174 days of being tracked by SMedian, the publication has grown from 88k to 122k subscribers.
Request to Contribute to prototypr
Seeing its number of subscribers grow from 34k to over 65k in the last 175 days, prototypr, previously named Prototyping: From UX to Front End, is now ranked at #42 on the top pubs list.
They have changed their name but the subject of the publication’s stories remains the same: they focus on “All things prototyping: Responsive Design, Wireframing, Front-end Development, Accessibility and beyond”. Honorable Mentions
We all start somewhere before making it to the top, so I want to highlight some publications that are up and coming and doing so quickly. When my publication, Mark Growth only had a thousand subscribers two years ago, we were and remain appreciative of the writers who took a chance with us and wrote for our relatively small audience instead of flocking to the big names.

In this age of artificial intelligence and machine learning, the world needs a publication like Becoming Human to help us understand it all. Becoming Human, edited by Stefan Kojouharov and team, brings us the “Latest News, Info and Tutorials on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data and what it means for Humanity.” In just over the last month of being tracked by SMedian, the publication has nearly doubled its subscribers from ~2k to ~4k. With an average growth of 43.9 new subscribers a day, Becoming Human is a publication you might be able to grow quickly with.
