12 Days of Marketing Christmas

I know!? I know!? Christmas is almost here.? Whether you celebrate or not, you can’t help but be immersed in the commercialism that Christmas brings.

Where are you on the continuum of Christmas cheer?? There is Mr. Scrooge on one end, who wants nothing to do with the holidays.? Or on the other end is that person that drinks in every aspect of the holiday spirit - lights, presents, eggnog, parties, cookie exchanges, Christmas music, you name it.

I’m somewhere in the middle…

But keeping with the tradition of gift giving during the holiday season, I do want to gift you with your own special version of the 12 Days of Christmas - marketing style.? These gifts, of course, cannot be put under your Christmas tree, but you can use them for planning your marketing strategy in 2023.

So here goes:

Day 12:? Do a messaging revamp on your website.? A great way to start the New Year is to be so super clear on who you work with, what pains and desires keep them up at night, and how you can help them solve their problems.? Your website copy should make your ideal client feel like you know them inside and out.? The words should inspire, inform, entertain and sell.

Day 11:? Give your website a design makeover.? Everyone loves a good makeover.? New wardrobe.? New makeup.? New healthy body.? “Wow!? What’s changed?? You look great!”? Do that to your website.? Redesign with a fresh new look so your prospects are wowed when they land on your website.

Day 10:? Reevaluate your offer stack. ?Take an honest look at your current offerings.? What worked well this year?? What offers were complete duds?? What creative and passionate ideas do you have for new offers for 2023?? Plan your 2023 offers and how you will market and launch them next year.

Day 9:? Set up a funnel for one of your offers.? Maybe you have a great offer that you know your audience needs and wants.? A course.? A group program.? A mastermind.? Do you have a funnel set up to market this offer?? A customer journey to take your prospects through from beginning to end?? Talk with a funnel expert to help you plan and design your funnel.

Day 8:? Build your email list.? Your email list is your most valuable asset.? And you want to have a solid email list building strategy in place.? Create a strategic lead magnet, choose your traffic channels to be used to attract new leads, and put a consistent nurturing process in place to build a relationship with new prospects.

Day 7:? Choose ONE social media channel to optimize.? There are a lot of different options, depending on where your audience hangs out and what platform you resonate most with.? Instagram. Facebook. YouTube. Pinterest. LinkedIn.? But just choose one, for now, do it well and be consistent.? Measure your results and tweak them if necessary.

Day 6:? Pick an offline marketing strategy to use.? In the crowded online space, it can be extremely helpful to resort back to offline marketing strategies.? You can choose a networking group you enjoy.? Put a referral program in place.? Speaking in your local area can be a great source for new clients as well.

Day 5: Implement a multi-channel marketing strategy.? Trying to figure out how to maximize your time and efforts with your marketing?? Put a process in place that targets multiple channels at one time.? For instance, create a YouTube video.? Transcribe the video to post on your blog. Write a teaser email to nurture your audience and drive traffic to your blog/video.? Social media, SEO, and nurture all at the same time! Done.

Day 4: Build powerhouse partnerships.? One of the best ways for you to network and reach new audiences is to establish powerhouse partnerships that you can tap into for collaborations.? Think business growth coach with accountants or marketing agencies.? Leadership coach with HR managers.? Health coach with doctors or personal trainers.? Find business partnerships that can complement your business and share resources and referrals.

Day 3: Stay in your zone of genius and outsource.? Trying to do everything yourself is not sustainable and certainly does not allow you to be the CEO of your business, or spend your time doing what you do best.? Find growth partners that can take things off your plate, be a strategic sounding board, and support you in next level growth.

Day 2:? Create a WOWZA customer experience.? From the moment you onboard a new client until the day they leave, everything about that experience needs to be top-notch, personal, organized, and professional.? It costs a lot more money to attain new customers than it does to keep the ones you have.? A happy customer will tell more people about you and your business.

Day 1:? Get creative and try some interactive content.? Your prospects want to be entertained and involved—no more mindless scrolling and looking at images and quotes. Try something different in 2023 and increase your interaction factor:? polls, quizzes, challenges, contests, assessments, interactive videos, etc.? You will need to do something to stand out and get your prospects' attention.

Day 0:? Give yourself the gift of relaxation.? Rest is essential to the growth of your business.? Without taking time out to rest, play and practice self-care, you will quickly head toward burnout.? Burnout kills your creativity, drains your positive energy, and ultimately affects your ability to attract new clients.

It would be nice if you could receive all 12 gifts at one time, but you and I know that is not possible.? So pick 3 gifts that you feel will have the greatest impact on your business next year.? Gift these to yourself and your business.? Because remember, your business and the transformation you offer is a gift to your clients and the world at large.
