12 Days of Christmas Recap

As we wrap up another incredible year, we couldn’t be prouder to look back on our 12 Days of Christmas campaign – a celebration of the amazing contributions our team has made towards ?Acorn Impact.

Whether it was giving back to local communities or helping others take steps toward brighter futures, this initiative truly captured the spirit of generosity and teamwork that makes Acorn so special.

Here’s a look at everything we achieved together:

Day 1: Shoebox Appeal in Exeter

Our Exeter branch joined forces with Blythswood Care Group to pack shoeboxes filled with essentials, toys, and warm clothing for children in Ukraine. With 15 other volunteers, our team helped spread hope and joy to families in need during the festive season.

Day 2: Supporting Cancer Research UK

This year, we raised over ￡7,000 for Cancer Research UK through activities like golf days, bake sales, and endurance challenges. We also donated 35 bags of clothing, valued at ￡868, to their local shops – proving that every effort helps fight cancer.

Day 3: Exploring Careers in FinTech

Our collaboration with FinTech Wales and Community Union at Port Talbot brought together training providers, employers, and job seekers, showcasing career opportunities for those affected by redundancies. While attendance was modest, two job offers and invaluable training advice were delivered – real results that matter.

Day 4: Torfaen Santa Appeal

Acorn Workers at ZF Pontypool joined the Torfaen Santa Appeal, donating gifts to ensure children in our community experienced the magic of Christmas. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this heart warming initiative!

Day 5: Promoting Social Mobility in Construction

At Wynne Construction’s project in Pontllanfraith, we hosted an Insite Session to connect vulnerable learners with opportunities in the construction sector. Thanks to partnerships with local support groups, we brought attendees closer to meaningful employment.

Day 6: Walking 100 Miles for Charity

Our team braved the cold to complete a 100-mile challenge, raising ￡170 for Cancer Research UK. From lunchtime strolls to family walks, this effort highlighted the joy of staying active while supporting a worthy cause.

Day 7: Food Bank Donation

In partnership with Massey Cladding Solutions, we made a generous donation to their food bank collection, helping those in need this festive season. It was a privilege to stand with our clients and make a tangible difference in the community.

Day 8: Manufacturing Workshop in Swansea

We partnered with Maximus UK and Dr. Organic Group Ltd. to host a workshop connecting job seekers to careers in manufacturing and production. We’re excited to share that one participant has already secured a role at Dr. Organic!

Day 9: Giving Back at RSPCA Warrington

Our Preston and Crewe branches brought joy to animals in need by donating toys, food, and cosy dog beds. Emilia and Marlena’s volunteer efforts at the RSPCA made the day even more special.

Day 10: Serve and Succeed Event

In partnership with St Austell Table Tennis Club, we hosted a day of career workshops, table tennis fun, and family activities. This event not only supported social mobility but also boosted mental health and community connection.

Day 11: Supporting St David’s Hospice

As the headline sponsor of the Dalmatian Bike Ride, we helped raise over ￡400,000 for St David’s Hospice. Our team also volunteered at their local hospice, assisting with gardening projects and spreading holiday cheer.

Day 12: Christmas Jumper Day

We wrapped up our campaign with a festive Christmas Jumper Day across the business. It was a joy to see everyone get involved, closing the year with a celebration of community and togetherness.
