12 artists + editions
June 08 > July 15, 2021
Mercedes Viegas Gallery presents, by means of scheduled visits, the group show 12 artists + editions. Combining works by artists represented by the gallery and works from the collection, the show includes sculptures, pen-and-ink prints, prints, photographs, and lightboxes. Focusing on limited-edition works, or multiples, the exhibition brings together different generations of artists: those who belonged to the avant-garde of the 1960s, such as Adalberto Mecarelli, Anna Maria Maiolino, Antonio Dias, Cildo Meireles, and Waltercio Caldas; those who began their productions in the 1980s, such as Ana Linnemann, Daniel Senise, and Regina de Paula; those who established themselves in the 1990s, such as José Damasceno and Marcia Thompson; and Maria Baigur, the youngest artist in the show, who begins exhibiting in 2015 - almost all with insertion in the international market.
The exhibition will receive scheduled visits, according to health protocols, as well as municipal and state decrees, visits will be separated by one-hour intervals, and will require social distancing and the wearing of masks. The works will also be accessible virtually through the gallery's website, www.mercedesviegas.com.br. To schedule your visit, contact us by email at [email protected], or via whatsapp at (21) 96736-5295.
