Without question, the most powerful business asset you'll ever have is your book.
Over the past few days, we've been having a (one-sided) discussion about building an empire. (ICYMI, go here: https://honoree-corder.kit.com/profile.)
Make no mistake--all roads in the empire lead back to a book (or a book series--more on that later).
I attended a luncheon yesterday and the host said, "How does one decide what to write their book about?"
This is a common theme lately, BTW, because while it seems commonly understood one "must" write a book (ahem), it doesn't seem as clear what said book should be about.
Fair enough.
Let me make it easy for you in two ways. First, the topic.
The topic should be, IMHO, your area of expertise. You know, the thing you're selling--the one you want to sell more often, for more money.
Next, the process.
Once you've had your aha moment--and you can have it by finishing this sentence:

I help people who need an expert in:
--then you can use this book to help you turn your idea into your outline into your first draft and eventually your book.
Said another way:
- You already have a book in you. You know it currently as the expertise you share over and over with (prospective) clients
- It doesn't have to take forever. Fifteen minutes of writing per day can get it done (or you can hire an expert team to do it for you)
- A book opens doors you can't even imagine today, from more and better speaking gigs, higher fees, instant authority
- Your expertise + a proven formula = a book that works hard for your business
The best part? Writing a book lets you command 25-50% higher fees for everything you do. Think about that! Yes, you can charge $1,500 instead of $1,000 for coaching, $15K instead of $10K for keynotes.
Look, if you've been thinking "someday I'll write a book," let this be your sign. Your future clients are waiting to discover you through your book.
I'll have more for you tomorrow.
P.S. Fun fact from the book: you can write your book in less time than it takes to binge watch an episode of something fun on Netflix! Think about where you could be a year from now with a book...
P.P.S. How is it basically a week before Thanksgiving?!

3 个月Absolutely! A book can be a fantastic way to leave a lasting impression. While a business card is useful for quick exchanges, a book offers a deeper connection, showcasing your expertise and thought leadership. It allows people to engage with your ideas long after the initial interaction. Plus, it's a great way to stand out and provide real value to your network. If you're considering writing one, now is indeed a perfect time to start—whether it's a passion project or a strategic business tool!
