Today, on Veterans Day, I take a moment to honor and respect all those who have served—not only in the United States but worldwide. In the 1980s, I served as a police officer in Costa Rica during intense regional challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean. I was fortunate to train at the School of the Americas, gaining skills to protect and serve my country in turbulent times.

This day, let's remember the countless sacrifices made since WWII and beyond. Each person who served did so with the hope that future generations could live in peace and respect. Let us carry forward this legacy by being kind to one another.
