The 11 Secrets of Successful Webinar Promotion

Through years of trial, error, and analysis we have found the 11 secrets of successful webinar promotion and we’re sharing them with you.

  1. Build a community online - by consistently creating content that your audience is interested in, you will develop an engaged community who will attend and learn from your webinars. Remember you don’t build a community by trying to sell to them, be authentic and provide content that will help them achieve their goals.
  2. Utilize your existing network. If your team all uses Linkedin, they should all have their own network you can use to invite relevant people to your webinars. Don’t just rely on posting the webinar on your company page, motivate all of your team to invite their connections and this will boost your event page’s reach.
  3. Choose an eye-catching title and banner. A title with an outcome will perform higher than a product-led title, tell people what your webinar will help them achieve and why they should attend, in the title.
  4. Use paid ads. You can boost your reach through paid ads, using an ABM list to reach your ICP or a targeted job function/ industry/ geography search. Agree on a budget before you create the ads and add this to your webinar's ROI.
  5. Send reminders. If you use Linkedin Live for your webinars, your attendees will receive reminders from Linkedin. You can also send email reminders that will a) remind people of the webinar and b) be forwarded to other contacts with a new registration link
  6. Send a thank you email when people sign up. This thank you email should contain further information about the webinar and have a signup link that can be forwarded on.
  7. Set an attendee goal and registration goal. Typically 20% of those registering attend the webinar, so your level of promotion can be calculated by your attendee goal.
  8. Choose the right day and time. Our research has shown that Wednesdays and Thursdays have the highest attendance rates, with webinars between 1pm and 5pm.
  9. Make it a compelling event. Show attendees how they can achieve their goals through attending your webinars and produce content and post-webinar collateral that provides lasting help for them.?
  10. A little competition. Host a competition or giveaway at the end of your webinar, they can be season-specific giveaways, such as restaurant vouchers in February or gift baskets in December, or tech, like drones or cameras, are always well received.
