The 11 most common interview mistakes that cost you the prospective job - The list is based upon the feedback from fraternity of recruitment specialist , It may help you to minimize your chances of failures in an interview :)
1. Not doing your homework. The most common observation from hiring managers is that candidates don't do their research about the role and the company. And some candidates even justify this unpreparedness with some silly excuses, that’s irritating!
2. Abusing, Trash talking your previous employer. No one prefers such bad mouths to be a part of their team. It’s a complete NO No
3. Arriving late. Barring some genuine cases, most of the time it explains how organised you are and how much priority you give to your career
4. Negative / Absurd body language; Not making eye contact.
5. Talking in excessive clichés or Jargons , it may either sound boring or over smart
6. Not asking questions. You are not wood !
7. Asking Ridiculous questions. You are not TV anchor !
8. Giving vague, illogical guesses as response to the questions, when you don’t know the answers
9. Playing with your phone. That’s casual and irritating to the interviewer.
10. Appearing uninterested. By not paying attention to interviewer's communication, body language
11. Improper dressing or even Overdressing may also hamper your chances by creating a perception may not go well with your candidature.
The list is shared with an intent to help all those appearing for an interview to consciously avoid committing mistakes which may proves costly. I will appreciate if readers can add their observation about the mistakes and add more to this list :)
