AI TO HELP DOCTORS SPOT BROKEN BONES ON X-RAYS

Let me present you a problem and you will be the judge of the proposed solution:

- in the UK, broken bones are missed in 3-10% of cases making it the most common diagnostic error in emergency departments

- vacancy rates are 12.5% for radiologists and 15% for radiographers

The solution they proposed is to use an AI to check for broken bone (from a radiology point-of-view, a much simpler task than detecting signs of cancer on CT scans) but every single image would get checked by a radiologist too.
