As conveyed on their 'About' page, ICELI - Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network of 1,750 local and regional governments in over 100 countries, that are committed to sustainable urban development.

The global reach of the organization has lead to some unique synergies and initiatives - in this case, involving post industrial cities in the U.S., Europe and China.
