11 Casting Methods

The production method of casting can be roughly divided into eleven according to the different process:

  1. Low pressure casting - the molten metal is filled at 0.02-0.06 MPa and crystallized under pressure.(Refer to products from Shandong Taikai Investment Casting Co., Ltd.), it is suitable for making all kinds of big size castings: A.Motor housing/clutchhousing/reducer box and gearbox for new evergy vehicles: Blade Electric Vehicles(BEV), Plug- inhybrid Electricle Vehicle(PHEV),Hybrid Electricle Vehicle(HEV),Fuel Cell Electricle Vehicle(FCEV), Split Hybrid Electric Vehicle(PSHEV), etc. B. High Voltage Power Transmission: cable housing, SF6, GIS etc. C. Bean of Lasr Cating machine. D. Aluminum casting parts in rail transit/power train industry.

2. Sand casting - pouring molten metal into the sand mold.

3. Investment casting - wax mold coating paint baking into a shell casting metal liquid.

4. Pressure casting - high pressure metal liquid is pressed into the cavity of precision metal mold at high pressure.

5. Centrifugal casting - the molten metal is poured into a rotating mold and filled under centrifugal force.

6. Metal casting - the molten metal is solidified in a filled metal mold under its own gravity.

7. Vacuum Casting - Filling the vacuum in the mold cavity during the die casting process (vacuum suction casting).

8. Squeeze casting - Liquid or paste state molten metal flows under high pressure and solidifies.

9. Continuous casting - continuously flows the molten metal into a special metal type (crystallizer), and when it is solidified, it is pulled out from the other end when the high temperature method is extended to the optimum temperature zone (long strip type).

10. V-casting--on the model with negative pressure pores, the plastic film brush coating is used for dry sand molding, boxing, and casting under negative pressure.

11. Lost Foam Casting - Lost Foam Casting (also known as solid casting) is a combination of a paraffin or foam model similar in shape to the shape of the casting into a model cluster, brushed with refractory paint and dried, and buried in dry quartz sand. Modeling, casting under negative pressure, gasification of the model, liquid metal occupying the position of the model, solidification and cooling to form a new casting method for castings.
