10X Your Obsession; It’s a Gift

The reason people are temporarily successful and then quit when they meet resistance is because other areas of their attention drag them down. Be obsessed. Something has to absorb your thoughts every second of every day—so what should it be? Just be obsessed with something and make your goals, dreams, and your life mission your dominant concern!

Obsession is defined by the dictionary as, “the domination of one’s thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image or desire.” The media focuses on the negative and perpetuates its own agenda, treating this mindset as a disease. But I believe it is the perfect way and the only way that you must approach success. I talk about this in The 10X Rule and have spoken on it at my seminars and will be going deeper into it during my upcoming 10X Everything Webcast.

To be able to dominate your market, your industry, your space, and reach your goals, dreams and ambitions you must first dominate your every thought with an obsessed 10X mentality. In this way, obsession is like a fire if you want to build it so massive that people are drawn to you to sit around your fire and admire it. And you must keep adding wood to sustain the heat and the glow—you obsess over how to keep your fire burning so it doesn’t burn down to ashes.

Humans would not have climbed the highest mountains, dove to the deepest parts of the ocean or made it into space without being obsessed with making it happen. History has proven over and over again how remarkable leaders who are obsessed with their cause and refuse to water down their dreams become a massive influence on the rest of the world. Never make it wrong to be obsessed, instead make it your goal.

Obsession is what you will need to set 10X goals and follow them up with 10X actions!

Look, you must remember that making the goal too small won’t allow you to gather the right motivation and interest to take the right amount of action to break through any barriers, resistance, competition or unplanned challenges. Nothing great will happen without people being obsessed with a concept and staying obsessed long enough to see it through to a reward.

The ability to be obsessed is not a disease; it’s a gift!
