10X Takeaways

I recently added Grant Cardone's 10X Growth Conference. As I've said here before, Grant Cardone has become a regular part of my personal development and I've always put his training in two distinct buckets: motivation and knowledge. Both were on full display at Growth Con.

On the motivational side, look no further than the conference title: 10X. Grant and his speaker lineup knew how to motivate the crowd and we all came out of it ready to 10X our lives and businesses. If you want to see some of this motivation, just look at the opening of the conference:

But in addition to the motivation, I came away with a lot of knew knowledge. After reviewing lots of notes, here are my five main takeaways:

  1. Get After It. This is the 10X Growth Conference, after all and there was plenty of admonition to increase your work rate in order to achieve your goals. Grant said "Most people starve between the idea and the execution." Naveen Jain challenged us, saying: "If people aren't telling you your idea is crazy, it's not big enough." Jordan Zimmerman told us that "excuses are lies that we tell ourselves."
  2. Get Allies. Grant wants to "be around people who are doing more than" him. Ed Mylett said that "Friends are people who make your life better." Tai Lopez talked at length about the importance of finding people opposite of you to share in the work.
  3. Get Attention. After the idea, this was the second step in Grant's selling cycle. He told us to continually get attention. Ezra Firestone talked about the importance of being able to tell a compelling story. And Lopez talked about the need to master marketing in order to be successful.
  4. Get Trained. According to Grant, knowing how to become successful isn't difficult. Just find a few great people and follow them. Brad Lea shared his success formula: "Do More. Get Better," meaning that you work hard until you can't do any more and then do the training to get better at your work.
  5. Get sales. This is a Grant Cardone conference and the sales tips and tactics were sprinkled throughout. Early in the conference, he told us to not be afraid to move the close up. "People know why you are in front of them," he said. "They WANT you to ask quickly so they can say yes or no. The information threshold for getting them to make a decision is not as high as you think it is." He talked about the importance of believing in yourself, product and company, saying: "The most common objections you hear are typically YOUR objections. I don't get objections because I believe in the product so strongly."

I definitely came out of the conference motivated and ready to go to work. Want to be an ally of mine? Reach out and let's 10X it together!
