10x Mindset Program-Continuity of Action
#44 Repetition is both a cause and an effect of behavioral integration. Continuity of action activates our 10x mindset. Basketball greats like Kobe Bryant have been said to practice shooting 100,000 made-shots in one off-season to develop mental strength as well as muscle memory. Researchers suggest that Chess Grand Masters recognize a minimum of 50,000 chessboard patterns. Great musicians practice three to six hours/day. Like Pablo Casals, even at age 93, they continue to improve through skilled repetition. What behavioral practices might we use to develop our 10x mindset, and why would we use them consistently? 1) Journaling previous 10x outcomes…to develop a robust, internal representation of our 10x identity manifested in 10x outcomes. ?2) Researching 10x experts…to increase the number of 10x distinctions we can apply to ourselves. ?3) Asking and answering the 10x question (How do I 10x this?)...to build the mental muscle of finding answers that meet the 10x criteria. 4) Blogging new 10x distinctions…to use writing to clarify our understanding of what 10x means to us. ?5) Exposing ourself to new contexts…to generate new experiences we can model and integrate into our thinking and action. Continuity of action creates 10x habits that sustain our 10x mindset.
