10th Avenue Bridge Project Receives APWA 2023 Public Works Project of the Year Award
The 10th Avenue Bridge SE Rehabilitation Project in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was recognized with an American Public Works Association (APWA) 2023 Award during the Awards Recognition Ceremony held in conjunction with APWA’s PWX (Public Works Expo) on August 28th in San Diego, CA.?
The APWA Public Works Project of the Year Award recognizes projects that “promote excellence in the management, administration, and implementation of public works projects by recognizing the alliance between the managing agency, the consultant/ architect/engineer, and the contractor who works together to complete public works projects.”?
The City of Minneapolis earned APWA’s 2023 Public Works Project of the Year Award in the Historical Restoration/Preservation category, in the $25 Million - $75 Million division. The City of Minneapolis worked to rehabilitate the historic 10th Avenue SE Bridge over the Mississippi River, a 2,163-foot-long bridge featuring seven concrete arch river spans and a bridge deck 115 feet above the river. The bridge is one of the highest and longest concrete arch bridges in the Midwest.?
