It came as no surprise when reading we received almost an inch and a quarter of rain yesterday, and by the looks of our city's creeks and river, I'd say they're filled to the brim with runoff.

I definitely had a full day with the showing of five homes which were located in various districts of our city, but unfortunately none of them were candidates for an 'I've gotta have it' response from my buyers, so it looks like our search will continue.

Thank goodness the swelling on my face from those nasty black gnat bites is going down, so perhaps I'll be closer to being back to normal by the end of the weekend. My gosh! That was a happening I'll certainly remember and hopefully never repeat.

While visiting with an long-time client of mine today, I couldn't help getting a few laughs out of her when paraphrasing a conversation I had well over a year ago with a gentleman who was going on and on about how much he loved white, and by the time he finished with all the 'white' things he liked, I was starting to grow nauseous because I was envisioning just about everything he was relaying. Can you imagine someone loving white to the point of wishing all lighting was white florescent, all walls, flooring, ceilings, cabinets and countertops were white? I didn't dare ask about furnishings because he would've likely started talking about how he'd often fantasize about lying on a white bear rug in his birthday suit. Yikes!

Of course wicked me couldn't help kicking back by saying anyone who's that much into white, definitely has issues with all the 'gray' areas of our world which certainly makes life more interesting and definitely fulfilling. I was almost ready to tell him he must've immediately fallen in love with a white-walled hospital setting when he was very young, or perhaps heavily into sterile environments.

For me, about all the white I care to have around me are white cotton sheets and pillow cases, flat white ceilings, along with white sinks, bathtubs and toilets, and all the other whites in my life, are nothing more than those I can't change their color, or modest accents. That's it. You can be sure even the thought of living in the midst of all white, sends a chill up my spine.

My associate Brandon Neve listed a home out of town this morning, and I later drove there to take the above exterior photo along with all the others which you'll see if you click on it, just to get a slide-show started. The home is located at 1007 3rd Ave. S., Northwood, Iowa which is in one of that town's districts where there are a number of charming older homes.

From the exterior, one wouldn't think it boasts nearly 1,200 square feet of living area on the main floor. There've been many recent updates including newer permanent siding, roof, and thermal windows. I absolutely love the french doors, the wide-open floor plan, hardwoods and the abundance of natural light filtering in. It's got an oversized single garage, a storage shed and is located on a full-sized corner lot. Truth be told, all the time I was there, I was having feelings of being completely comfortable and 'grounded', and believe me, that doesn't happen very often with me, so if you happen to know anyone who's looking for a such a home, please have them give Brandon Neve or myself a call. The asking price on it is $94,000, and considering what's been selling in Northwood these recent years, it is priced to sell. I'll have it disseminated out into the cyber-universe tomorrow morning.

Since I had my camera with me, I drove into their absolutely charming downtown and took a number of photos which I'll be sharing in the future which I'm sure you'll enjoy. I also took several photos of the Shell Rock River which has certainly gone over it's banks in their park. As much as I try to be positive and forward-thinking about our historic downtown, I have to say without question, Northwood's definitely got it's act together to where it's decades ahead of us.

Tonight's One-liner is: Musicians must make music, artists must paint, and poets must write if they're to be ultimately at peace with themselves.
