One is to grow your social media following as much as possible.
The other is to focus on finding those 100 targeted, loyal individuals who are in need of your services.
In this article, I will share my honest opinion about both paths (as I have walked both)...
How to know what is the RIGHT path for you...
And ways to achieve both of these goals.

100.000 Followers Vs. 1000 Targeted Connections
100.000 Followers
The more people read (watch) your content, the more potential clients you will have.
At least that's the myth behind it.
Yes, having a broad social media following can significantly enhance your visibility and credibility in the coaching industry.
A larger audience can lead to increased engagement, collaboration opportunities, and ultimately, more clients.
However, pursuing a vast following comes with its challenges.
Large audience can sometimes lead to a lack of engagement because of algorithms, lack of targeting, reach limitations...
Making it difficult to convert followers into paying clients.
Additionally, with so many followers, you might find that the connections you establish are often superficial, lacking the depth necessary for meaningful client relationships.
In other words, sometimes 10 targeted individuals are worth more than 100.000 random followers.
There were times when my articles had millions of views but none of the Emails I collected lead anywhere...
And there were times when I personally reached out to 10 people and I converted one client.
But to be fair...
One article earned me more via ads from untargeted traffic in one day than all clients I found manually in a whole month.

Targeted connections are individuals who resonate with your coaching services and are more likely to become loyal clients.
You don't need a large following to find them.
In fact, you don't need any following.

How to Find Targeted Connections?
1. Network Actively.
Attend workshops, webinars, and events relevant to your niche. Engaging with like minded individuals can help you find your ideal clients.

After establishing a connection, don’t forget to follow up.
This is something that most people overlook.
But following up gives me 70% of my clients...

Both paths are great, there is nothing wrong with neither of them.
What is wrong is when someone with the business model for "1000 targeted connections" is following the path of "100.000 random followers"...
That's when you end up doing things that waste your time and do not grow your coaching business.
